Heartfelt Music

so much going on

It's pretty busy in the Heartfelt Camp these days. This weekend two demos for the upcoming EP (due in November) were finished.  Next up is a remix for Iceland's Worm Is Green. Plans for a studio live album with the Music Population Orchestra are also in the works. If that weren't enough, I'm also working on a project for the Norwegian Broadcasting Company with Nils Petter Molvær.

You've got every reason to stay tuned.

Oh. You should join Heartfelt on Facebook if you haven't already done so!

Heartfelt Orchestrated

It's been a busy few days trying to finish the arrangements for the Heartfelt+MPO concert next week. It's an interesting process to rearrange the music like this - replacing synthesizers with horns and strings; notating all the little things that were recorded but never written down. I'm excited to hear how it turns out at the rehearsals in Ålesund next week. Fingers crossed!

a year in

I just came back from my brother's wedding up North. Now, I'm back in Oslo with a few days to finish up the Heartfelt arrangements for the Music Population Orchestra. The concert on Giske is less than two weeks away. They call the festival "the World's Best Festival" and I think it has something to do with where it's located.

On July 25th, 50 bands will be playing on four stages on the Northern tip of Giske (to the left on the falt island in the picture). That day will also mark the 1 year anniversary for Heartfelt's first performance. This time, there will be old songs, new songs and the MPO.

Oslo Live

Oslo Live Festival was on this past weekend, protected by the wall of the fortress downtown. It started out spontaneously last year when they took over the lineup from a different festival that had to call it quits. It's a pretty small festival, but there were some great acts.

Diplo and Gazelle (South Africa) put on great shows, but Santigold was the definite highlight for me!

new music

I've been working on a new concept for the next Heartfelt EP. I'm taking a break from working on bikes and spending time in the studio again. New tracks are now in the works. Teasers and samples to come before long!

The Heartfelt EP is now available on iTunes, Amazon and Napster, with more added stores coming soon.

update

I played with the fantastic Chairlift in Oslo a few days ago. It was a fabulous night and it was a thrill to open up for such a great band. Don't miss them if you get the chance to see them play. Really.

Now I'm working on material for a new EP, due this fall. I did a pre-premiere of an early version of the new song Primitive Beings. More new material to be premiered at the concert in July. Stay tuned and keep in touch.

online store

We've setup an online store for the Heartfelt merchandise. Get in touch if you have any questions. T-shirts are coming soon!

from the "road"

I played my third show with Robert Post and his fabulous band at Garage in Bergen last night. This was my first gig in Bergen and I hope it won't be long before I can come back and play here again.

Bergen is a beautiful city. Too bad I have to go back to Oslo again in a few hours. Here's the view out of the window from where I'm staying.

show added: Copenhagen

Last fall I played a show with High Places at Mir in Oslo. They're back in Europe and I happen to be in Copenhagen when they're playing there, so they invited me to play with them at Loppen. This will be Heartfelt's debut outside of Norway.

bags

Tote bags have been added to the "Heartfelt Line". Like all the Heartfelt designs, the design on the bag is based on the Heartfelt line logo, conceived at a café in Copenhagen last spring. Designer Michael Schnepf is the brilliant man designing everything Heartfelt.

Heartfelt tote bags will be available at live shows from now on, and possibly through mail order if you really, really want one.

twitter

I've just joined Twitter and thanks to my brilliant friend David, the tweets(?) show up on afeltheart.com. Join me on twitter.com/afeltheart

mini tour

I've added some more shows in Norway in March/April. I'm playing a few shows with my friend Robert Post and his excellent band, who's releasing his second record these days. The extremely talented Petter Carlsen is also on the bill for these concerts.

I'm also working on booking a show in Copenhagen in April.
